Schengen visa insurance, starting with applicants in India.
Instead of publishing dozens of near-identical country pages, iTravelEurope starts with one high-intent market and the official Article 15 requirements: qualifying medical protection, repatriation, territorial validity and the required period of cover.

What the EU Visa Code says the insurance must cover
| Minimum cover | At least €30,000. |
|---|---|
| Medical events | Repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention, emergency hospital treatment or death. |
| Territory | Valid throughout the relevant Member States. |
| Period | Cover the entire intended stay or transit required by the visa rules. |
| Where to buy | Applicants should in principle take out the insurance in their country of residence; if that is not possible, the Visa Code allows obtaining it elsewhere. |
Use the checklist for your actual appointment. Local consulates or visa centers can ask for specific evidence or formatting. Official instructions for your destination and application location take priority.
Before you purchase
Five details that can make a certificate easier to verify.
The insurance has to be demonstrably compliant—not merely marketed as “Europe cover”.
- Traveler name: match the passport exactly.
- Benefit limit: show at least €30,000 clearly.
- Territory: state the required Schengen/Member State validity.
- Dates: match the required period in the application.
- Repatriation: make sure it is expressly included.
